Butterfly Boxes for Kusudama Bookmarks

A while ago, I posted my corner bookmark using a Kusudama flower dangle.
I'm thrilled to guest blog about how to make it on It's so Very Cheri !

To celebrate being featured, I'm sharing some more pics of the 'flowers'. Snapped with my (laughably out-dated) camera : an Olympus Camedia C170, Lens 6.1mm 1:2.8.

Photo on White Ground :

Took me a while to work out the bowl position against the floor's grid lines.

Photo on Red Ground :

This shot is actually rotated 180 degrees. For some reason it looks better 'upside down' to me.

Butterfly Box Inspiration :

As Cheri suggested, they make nice little gifts. And that's exactly what I did. Popped them into some Butterfly boxes and handed them out as party favours to my girlfriends when they came over for lunch.

Supplies :
g.c.d studios Paper - Cosette Collection's pearls and cornucopia, Lost in Paradise Collection's light medallions

Effort :
Time - 1 hour for 3 boxes
Cost - about S$5 for 3 boxes

Completed Boxes :

Had the hardest time getting my boxes to 'sit up straight' on the peanut lawn. So I cheated by rotating the shots afterwards.

Pearl, did it by hand. Just a box template with half a butterfly on each lid. They twist together to close.
