Disc Holder Tutorial

Last month I shared my London Calling disc-holder created by folding a long strip of paper five times. The result is a secure pocket for storing CDs or DVDs. Here's the how-to tutorial. I'm going to start with the closed holder. Follow along as I show you the step-by-step unfold. At the end, you'll find my template to help you with the orientation of your decorative design.

1. Flip the cover to the right

2. Flip the right panel upwards

3. Bring the top panel down from behind

4. Flip the bottom panels over to the left

5. Unfold along the diagonal to get the opened strip

6. Turning the strip over, here's what the other side looks like

Great ! You've made it right to the end. Now take a practice piece of paper and try the folds. Start with step 5 and work your way up to the close holder. For the actual holder, use a 6"x30" piece of paper to accomodate a standard size CD. Now isn't paper folding fun ?
