Liftonoszek

Origin : Polish, [noun] women who scraplift.

I received such a nice compliment for my M monogram cards. Tusia asked if her Liftonoszek group could lift them. Of course I said yes and these are some of the wonderful projects they created.

Guru took the blue and kraft colours from my cards and made them all her own with this altered paper bag. I love those Matryoshka nesting dolls she substituted for the children and the stamped branches and borders which referenced the Hambly acrylics of the original cards.

Tusia came up with this card that perfectly captures the 50s nostalgia of children's illustrated books. Look at how cleverly she referenced the wind theme with the umbrella quotation.

And this card by Czekoczyna really speaks to me. It so organic in the arrangement of the elements. I admire her use of connective items and creativity in replacing the acrylics with sewn borders.
To return the compliment, I made this card. The colour palette of red, green and black is from Tusia's card. And I lifted these elements from Czekoczyna's : the blue flowers with yellow centers, the boxed ledger and the tiny dots pattern. The result is my Deposit the news card which has a vehicle too - a mail plane.
Deposit the news is for Marlena

Don't you just love blogging and cardmaking ? It can bring together Singaporeans and Poles - bridging the language barrier and creating wonderful connections. Liftonoszek rules.
