Lights, Camera, Popcorn

My design project for KCK this month is inspired by the Oscars. I caught a couple of the nominated and winning movies but there are still many I haven't had a chance to see. So I created this giftbox to hold a movie marathon invite to my friends. Do you have a favourite amongst this year's winners ?

The completed project stands 2"x2"x4" and is decorated with interlocking jigsaw cut-outs from grapic45's Curtain Call papers. I love the stark crispness of these black and white images.

This is the view of the other side. The top lifts off to reveal the movie and popcorn vouchers. I normally pop my kernels the old fashioned way in a pot. But this time I went the convenience route and use ConAgra's pre-packed microwaveable bags. My friends couldn't tell the difference.

Many of my favourite B&W era movies are by Hitchcock : The Lady Vanishes, 39 Steps, The Man who Knew too Much. I'm equally fascinated by the icy blond glamour of his leading ladies and by the way his camera forces an almost guilty sense of voyeurism on me.
