- are you interested in learning new techniques
- which is form of learning is easiest for you - video, photo, written
- what's the latest technique you've picked up

Leave me a comment and on 29 May I'll pick one name to receive this giveaway : K&Co Madeline - 9pcs of 12x12 paper
Paraphrasing one of the BCC commenters : My name is Sandy Ang and I am a technique junkie. The latest thing I've learnt is coptic binding to create handmade books with pages that open flat.
I picked this technique up by following this video from Jim Escalante and I promise it is easier than you think. (The next thing I need to learn is how to create a video tutorial so you have a recommendation send it my way). The only tip I have is to add is to use a curved needle if you have one as it makes the sewing really easy.

I've been traveling again, and have missed a few day - will have to go back later today to see what I've missed! Oh, Sandy, learning new techniques is my favorite thing! It is so much fun to learn something new. My favorite method is photo, as those I can save. I love when the photos are accompanied with video so I can watch too, but if I have to choose one over the other, it would be photo. Hmmmm...the newest technique I've learned would be Coptic Binding - thank you for that!!! Love your fabulous book!
Oh YES!! I love to learn new techniques! That's what it's all about, isn't it? Always learning and growing in this wonderful craft! I love a combination of videos, photos and words! However, videos usually show it the best...if they are done well! Photos are great to refer back to over and over if they are in a format that you can save! The latest technique learned was the one you just shared with me...the Coptic Binding! Thank you for that!...Nancy :o)
i'm awful at learning new things!!I can learn easy enough if I see it done so I suppose video would be good for me but I also like to print out the instructions for later refrences. I haven't learned or done anything new for awhile but-as simple as this seems-when I learned to antique things it was a grand thing for me-lol!!!----The book is grand and I might have to give it a go. Besides in crafting we never make mistakes do we??
Thanks for the link to the video! Coptic binding has been on my "learn-to-do" list for a while now. I love techniques and my favourite magazine issue is the Stamp Techniques mag from Papercrafts. Expanding on ways to use supplies is my favourite thing to do.
I tend to look at photos with writing more than I will click on a video. I dont' know why. You would think videos would be better... I don't think I have any techniques that would be new to you!
I love learning new techniques, but i'm a creature of habit and am always a bit reluctant in taking risks and trying new things. I find that photo or video tutorials are easiest for me to follow. I have seen a video on watermarks recently and i cannot wait to try my own!
I luv learning new techniques too! by the way i luv your little book! :-) Once video was introduced for "how to learn", it became easier, for me. the latest?? I think how to make FELTED CARDSTOCK, using napkins. I thought that was neat, and can use it for the background on my card :-)
I love learning new technique...that's why I read about 100 blog post a day, spending at least 8 hours daily on the internet ...
To me, a picture paints a thousand words...so I love tutorial with picture so that I can print them out and refer the step-by-step instruction while working on that new technique. Of course there are some tutorial that require video mode such as tying a ribbon bow...which is just too difficult to understand by looking at the photos.
I learned making corner bookmark recently and love creating them as a gift to my son's kindy teacher.
OMG!!! you really learned this via you tube!!! bet after you've read my post on book binding. I am so proud of you Sandy and you are just one amazing technique junkie...I should be like you...search for techniques and learn them in the comfort of our own home right? Just so brilliant and thanks for sharing...
I love the cover so much...
I do love new techniques and it depends on the day of the week...but I love pics...Videos are good too:)
Love the book....super neat.
I've been dabbling with Shrink Plastic...love the stuff.
Love new techniques here. I am not a video watcher myself. I don't watch much tv and don't take a lot of time to sit around and watch videos, either. I guess I prefer the picture step by step tutorials.
Does making your own tassel for a graduation hat party favor count as a new technique?! That's my recent accomplishment.
yes definitely we can learn almost anything that we want to in this youtube age of ours ! I often look at papercrafting videos to get ajump start on mojo sometimes - my fave technique at the moment , if it's one - is scoring & folding ( making crisp folds especially ) lol !
Hi Sandy
I love your book.
I'm always willing to learn something new and new techniques YESSSS. Videos are the easiest way to learn but I prefer written with photos because I have bad memory. I can save them when they're written and always go through my files to look at a specific techniqe when needed. My latest technique? Will be tomorrow, I have a monochrome coloring technique lesson.
Have a nice weekend!
Am always hunting for new techniques. It never fails to give me thrills when i learn something new and interesting and one which i can use. Video tutorials are the best for me,especially one with snippets of tips/techniques/useful facts about the materials used. Photo tutorials are next and last would be the written (with great detail) ones. The latest technique i've learned is the faux crackle paint technique over at LiveWithPrima :) Sandy, that's a good-lookin' book you got there, and very enticing to think what's inside :)
I love the flat binding (coptic? I had never heard that term). Your book is sooooooooo cool! Love the elements! Sorry I don't have a how-to on videos, but I can't wait to see when you start making them!
Yes,
I'm always interested in learning something new or dfferent
videos work best for me
I'm trying to learn some new techniques this year - one of my resolutions. I haven't watched any videos yet, I like the photo tutorials right now.
I love learning new techniques also. I prefer to watch a video but I like to have a paper copy to refer back to, with lots of pictures :)
Very cool book! Will have to check this out! I love new techniques, I've been playing with mixed media lately....so much fun! I like to watch tutorials in video form.
WOW!.. your journal is super duper beautiful! :D
I LOVE techniques!.. I just love to pick them up from everywhere! :D
I prefer a photo tutorial more than a video tutorial because sometimes I am just to lazy to wait for the video to load! ;)
The latest I picked up was using die cuts with adhesive.. makes the job soo much easier! :D
This is such a cute notebook, Sandy! Always enjoy your beautiful projects!
I love new techniques and prefer photo with tips unless it is something especially difficult to get the photos to show all of the details, then I would like a video. But will try any method if it is something I am interested in. My latest fav thing is a ribbon flower I found on one of my friends blogs. But I also enjoy different types of folds.
Your book is so lovely...off to check this technique out.
I hope I never stop learning new techniques. I learn best by video. Yhe latest technique that I have learned is using Pan Pastels.
I lurve learning mew techniques and find that written instructions with photos are easiest for me to follow. Thank you for the opportunity to have my say :)
